Still Waiting

When I was younger, I remember watching shows, discussing with friends, reading magazines and all of these different articles about the future and the big year 2000 and what it would all be like. You know, transportation and cities that hovered high in the sky, robots, funky/shiny/metallic outfits, weird shaped buildings and super advanced technology. The year 2000. It seemed so far away at the time- and I just wanted it to get here so bad. I just couldn't wait!
~*~
Well its the year 2006. And yes, our technology is more than it was... But I'm still here... still waiting for my year 2000.

Theatre Night

My friends and I went out the other night to watch a play at a 'little theatre.' From what I told, the play came from an old movie- about two generations back or so. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, thats what it was called.
~*~
When we made our way through the entrance- we were greeted by ladies wearing bonnets and the proper costume to go along with it. They were all dressed up- some with bright red lipstick and others with flushed cheeks. They were all very friendly and were just having a great time talking, smiling, laughing- entertaining themselves and everyone else in the room.
~*~
Then it hit me... my camera! So I headed back out the door to go grab it out of the car when I was greeted by the Boa Ladies. They were very cute. They walked in with there heads held high, great big grins on their faces and swished their hips from side to side- in unison- as they approached the door. I held the door open for them- about eight of them I believe- and as each stepped though the door, they tugged on one end of their boa and did that palm pat to the side or the end of their hair, shook their hair and walked all the way in and formed a line inside- hands on hips. We knew it wasn't over- the went on and did a little one to two minute dance and song. But again- it was very cute. They all looked as if they might be older than my grandmother- but the way they were dancing and singing... They were just having a blast! And so was everyone else in the lobby area.
~*~
After the show by the Boa Ladies, I went out for my camera. Knowing they don't like cameras in the theater area itself- "no cameras or recording devices are allowed into the theatre"- I just snapped the picture above and a few others with my friends and put it away so that we wouldn't get in trouble.
~*~
The play was a lot of fun- tons of singing and dancing and even a few laughs here and there. It was great :D

Its Spring!

I took this the other night... I'm a bit upset that the picture didn't turn out so good here ::sigh:: oh well.

~*~

But yeah, my rose bushes wouldn't bloom and I saw this last night when I came in. I was very excited. I guess the rain kinda beat it downwards- but my flower should be okay- I hope...

~*~

Well, its nice and warm here- I think I'll hit the beach in the morning.

Out For A Good Time

My friend's little boy was in a car accident and was in the kiddy hospital for a very long time... He is okay now- and his birthday was last week so we took him out to
Jekyll and Hyde.
[Be sure to check out that link to get a better understanding about the place.]

~*~

We had tons of fun with the waiters and the horror theme. The ceiling that crept towards us as we waited with the creepy host guy in the entrance room was kinda cheesy with the flickering lights and all but it was funny. My friend's little boy and all his friends were screaming- very cute :D

~*~

Now the food isn't all that exciting... you would think they would make the food go along with the theme and all... But its okay- it wasn't about the food- it was about the feeling of the place. We were all out to have some fun! You need to have a sense of humor and go along with the surroundings- especially with the waiters/characters! I can't believe I left my cam. at home...

New Ads

How about that Burger "King" huh?

Okay, so I will admit, when I saw my first ad with the "King" (I cant remember which one it was...), I laughed a bit... But one of those laughs that leaves you frozen with an open mouth smile and eyes glued to the subject- in this case the "King." I just couldnt believe that they had this big "King" with this big goofy face... I wasn't sure what to think. As time went on- the ads just kept on... and they just got more weird by the day (or however often they came out with new ads). At one point- they even had a few "...cheer leaders aka the "King's booty dancers" [thanks Cody]. Were sales at Burger King getting THAT bad? To the point that they need a big... "King" with booty dancers? ::sigh::

~*~

The old ad campaign had to do with a group of office guys trying to out-do each other with their burger toppings (you know, showing off the whole you can 'have it your way' thing?). I was fine with that... sure it didn't leave me saying "yes, those guys made me want to have a burger- made MY WAY..." And I guess this is why the Burger King people went for something different... something bigger- but plastic?!?!? YESSH! What is with this... this... "King?" He is the creepiest guy that I have seen on TV in a long time. Sure the excessive ads with this creep reminds me of Burger King (which I guess IS the point) but at the same time, he does NOT make me want to buy (or in the case of the ads) eat from him! ::pictures the ads where he has the huge burger in his hand(s):: I think he is actually VERY repulsive...
